Services
Our aim is to raise the standards of electrical safety at work. We achieve this by working closely with Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Operatives responsible for electrical systems operating at HV and LV. When we leave site senior staff feel better, telling themselves 'I'm glad we did that'. Electricians frequently comment 'I enjoyed that, you got me thinking'.
We offer:
- Preliminary Assessment - an overview of the way in which you manage electrical safety in your workplace General strengths and weaknesses are identified and presented in a report.
- Risk Gap Analysis - a more detailed examination of current practices and procedures aimed at measuring the 'risk gap' - the difference between what is being done and what should be done.
- Point Scoring - a very detailed examination that quantifies your performance against every point of detail contained in the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the supporting Memorandum of Guidance issued by the HSE.
- Electrical Safety Rules - your existing Safety Rules reviewed and updated to ensure that best practice is being followed. Where necessary new rules are drafted.
- Electrical Procedures - routine and one-off procedures for your site examined and documented in the form of Risk Assessments and Switching Schedules.
- Exercises - switching exercises tailored to your system. Particularly useful for operators responsible for HV systems or large LV systems where the opportunity for switching practice is restricted.
- Training - awareness training for senior staff, detailed training for electricians and other operatives. Content includes relevant legislation, technical essentials and your Electrical Safety Rules. Theoretical and practical. Normally delivered on site.
- Competency Assessments - for all grades of staff; Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Authorised Person (AP) Competent Person (CP) etc. Structured to meet the requirements of Reg 16 of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. Includes practical scenario exercise, interview and report. Over 100 Assessments completed to date.
- Team Building - where Authorising Engineers (AEs) manage groups of APs who take responsibility for ensuring that safe systems of work are adopted on site by CPs working within their personal level of competence.
- Monitoring and Auditing - to check practices and procedures in progress (monitoring) and work done previously (auditing).
- Technical Support - on all electrical power issues associated with both HV and LV systems.
